The position requires maintaining and developing an extensive network of internal communications professionals in all regions, clusters and local markets as well as at Volvo Group level.
VBC handles four brands (Volvo, Prevost, Nova Bus and UD) and is selling its products and services in +70 countries. The role requires collaboration with the VBC President and Executive Committee, and other global functions including Human Resources, Quality & Customer Satisfaction, and the Manufacturing organization.
The role has no direct reports, but leadership capabilities to develop the functions business contribution further, is important. The bus business is changing rapidly with electro mobility products entering the market in heavy competition. Accelerating developments in connectivity and autonomous driving are also changing the industry going forward.
The Head of Internal Communications reports to the SVP Marketing, Communications & Public Affairs, and represents the function in certain projects and committees. The role is located at the VBC Headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. Some minor international travelling may be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Internal Communications strategy, processes and governance
• Planning and budgeting
• Intranet management and internal digital communications development
• Editorial management and publishing
• Articles and speeches writing/production including video production
• Internal communications focus programs and events
• Support, develop and align Volvo Buses' President and management team communication internally
• Develop, implement and manage blue collar communication
• Networking and strategic support to business regions and geographical clusters
• Drive Internal Communications in close collaboration with other functional practices such as Global Marketing, Media Relations, Public Affairs and Digital Marketing & Communications Development
• Key interface with Volvo Group equivalent responsible(s)
• Functional performance management including analytics and change stewardship for continuous improvement, reporting and follow-up
• Member in the Global Marketing, Communications & Public Affairs leadership team

DESIRED EXPERIENCE
• +3 years International internal communications management experience, preferably from the automotive industry
• Experience of developing and deploying internal communications programs to enable company strategy implementation, culture, change management, lean management, quality and customer satisfaction processes etc.
• Successful experience of collaborative management in the matrix of a global organization
• Leading collaboration with external partners and agencies
• University degree in Business, or equivalent education and training

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
• Commercial drive and customer success in focus, enabling a profitable business
• Excellent understanding of industrial manufacturing, its organizational challenges and opportunities
• Excellent functional expertise in Internal Communications, both strategic and operational, including digital tools and channels
• Extraordinary writing skills (internal articles and speeches) in English and Swedish language
• Excellent video and presentation production skills
• Excellent editorial management competence across all internal channels and interfaces, translating strategy, change and organizational needs into people engagement
• Ability to support in particular the functions of Human Resources, Quality and Customer Service, Product Development, and Manufacturing with relevant communications guidance, activities and tools
• Change management drive and follow up on objectives and targets
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills, including efficient networking and building lasting relationships across functional and geographical areas
• Ability to work in a matrix environment and build international networks
• Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English. Additional languages are meriting
• Outstanding presentations skills and ability to inspire and influence others
• Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and initiate change
• Proactive problem solving personality
• Integrity and high ethical standards, supporting the Volvo Group core values
• Negotiation capabilities with external partners
