Head of Improvement Office Scania Financial Services

Scania Financial Services is serving customers, dealers and distributors in 52 markets through 16 captive business units with financing and insurance solutions. In markets where we operate Financial Services finance about one third of Scania's truck sales. Over 700 dedicated professionals manage a portfolio consisting of 100.000 trucks, buses, coaches and trailers representing around 50 bn SEK of assets. 43.000 of these trucks are covered under a Scania insurance scheme. The Scania Financial Services group has since some years been on their journey towards a more Lean, constantly improving and sustainable organization. We are now looking for a source of inspiration to keep developing the group to continue their Lean challenge going forward. At Scania we strive for operational excellence and the Improvement Office provides guidance, support and structure for the organization, especially when it comes to building a sustainable leadership culture connected to the Scania way.

Are you our new Head of Improvement Office?
Then you are an experienced leader who can take initiative, drive and sustain improvements while being result oriented. You have several years of relevant experience of implementing Lean principles that has generated improvements and you understand the need for behavioral change. To be successful in this role you need to be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business and must have a desire to develop and coach others. Working with us you will be a part of a small, highly motivated and energetic team in the inspiring task of driving, coaching and supporting the improvement work within the Financial Services group.

Your role will be to:
The Head of Improvement Office main focus is to provide strategic guidance and coaching for the central management team in how to apply Lean as an operational strategy in order to succeed with meeting the organizations challenges and reaching the set long term vision and targets. Following from this you set the strategy and plan for the Improvement Office in alignment. You are a coach and a speaking partner for functional managers at central level as well as Managing Directors and local management teams.

What do you bring with you?
We believe you are highly experienced and with a solid background within Lean. You have a genuine interest in developing people and building competence through training and coaching others.

Qualifications include:
• Relevant education or equivalent experience
• Several years of experience of working with improvement work in a Lean culture
• Strong knowledge of Lean concept, improvement methodologies and mindset
• Capable of changing behaviors though coaching and use of the above
• Leasing and financing business knowledge is a big plus
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Swedish desirable
• Managerial experience desirable

• Highly communicative and pedagogic
• Enthusiastic with a strong ability to lead change in processes and people
• Good interpersonal skills and skilled at building networks
• A genuine interest in leading and developing people and teams
• High service level approach with a passion for driving business further

The job offers plenty of international contacts with our Finance companies. This also means that you are expected to travel from time to time. The Improvement Office consists of one Head of Improvement Office and two Improvement coaches reporting to you. In this position you will be reporting to the Director of Operations at Scania Financial Services. You will be located in Södertälje, Sweden.
