The main product of the company is the LEON SPARC processor and the GRLIB IP-library used for System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions. In addition, support services, in-house development tools and software targeting the LEON processor are sold. Our customers are found across the globe mainly within aerospace and defense but also on the commercial side. In the software section we offer you a creative environment where you can influence your work and have the possibility to work within several projects ranging from simulators, debuggers, operating systems, drivers, boot loaders and IDE plug-ins. Since all hardware development takes place in-house at Cobham Gaisler, a unique expertise within SoC and microprocessor design is at hand.
Dina arbetsuppgifterHardware engineers at Cobham Gaisler participate in or are responsible for parts or the complete development process of system-on-chip designs based on our IP cores. The development is mainly performed using VHDL.
As lead of oyr hardware team, you will also be involved in the development of our IP library that supports all major EDA tools and will work with programmable logic devices from Microsemi, Xilinx and Altera as well as front-end ASIC design. Our hardware portfolio consists of everything from bus infrastructure, system peripherals, and communication controllers up to microprocessors.
The tasks of the Head of Hardware Section - managing the hardware section, include:
• Day-to-day contacts with hardware engineers
• Allocation of work tasks to hardware engineers , follow up
• Oversee IT and CAD tools infrastructure, hardware tools etc.,
introduction of new tools
• Monitor customer support cases handled by hardware section
• Responsible for data input to web, data sheets, user's manuals
• Responsible for development methods for IP core design, and ASIC design assurance
• Responsible for IP core releases, maintenance and errata communication
• Responsible for allocation of customer support for hardware products
• Reporting to Director of Engineering and Managing Director
• Coordination of work tasks with Head of Software Section and Project Manager (future post)
Utbildning och erfarenhetEngineering education with a Master's degree or higher, 5-10 years of experience preferred, previous experience with VHDL and ASIC development as well as C-programming. Experience in managing design teams of 10+ engineers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably also in Swedish. Previous contact with European space companies/agency is a plus.
