About this opportunity
Ericsson is recruiting a Head of External Communications to lead the global External Communications across Ericsson Business Area Cloud Software and Services; a business area with 34.000 employees located in over 50 countries, covering some of the most dynamic and innovative areas in the company's 5G portfolio!
We seek to hire a senior communications leader with experience in delivering external communications for global brands with a specific focus on tech. We are looking for someone who is logical and analytical and can lead the external communications team to think creatively to develop, implement and continuously evaluate the external communications outputs for maximal business impact.
The ideal candidate will be a professional who is an outstanding writer, has a digital-first approach, is experienced in advising C-level executives, as well as communicating towards investors, customers, media and other influencers.
You will work on a strategic level, but you are equally comfortable to work hands on with the organization. You have the capabilities to think new, pushing boundaries and applying the advantages of digitalization. This is critical when addressing Ericsson's key external target groups. The role is based in Stockholm, Kista.
What you will do
Lead a team of communications specialists and be a crucial member of the Business Area's Marketing and Communications Leadership Team, reporting to the VP of Marketing and Communications. You will also be part of the Global External Communications Leadership Team.
Work to influence external opinion and reputation on key strategic business positions, acting as a strategic adviser to BCSS leadership and managing broad external stakeholder needs and interests.
Develop critical communications plans, crafted to support Ericsson's Cloud Software and Services key business priorities
Collaborate closely with cross-functional colleagues to ensure the consistency of our narrative across all channels
Develop and implement executive visibility programs, that incorporate speaking engagements, and owned media engagements, as well as visibility in digital channels
Identify and mentor Spokespeople for the company
Support and empower a successful team, and enable them to promote key initiatives, customer wins, product innovations, and social impact programs through the creation of engaging materials such as press releases, thought leadership, blogs etc.
Overall responsibility for the External Communications budget, and drive the collaboration with communication agency partners
To be successful in this role you have
University degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent training/experience
At least 10 years of experience from communication roles, as well as experience in leading high performing teams
Strong collaboration skills
Solid understanding of communications strategies, techniques, efficiency and tools
Experience in various communication techniques, including earned and owned channels
Focus on execution and measurable results, including working on a global scale
Ability to empower and manage a large team in a distributed and virtual environment
Proficiency in English, both verbal and written
