What you will be a part of
Support and Services, a business area of Saab, supplies a wide range of services and integrated support solutions to customers in defence and on commercial markets for cost-efficient support of systems and platforms throughout their life cycle.
Business unit Gripen Support manages Gripen business within Support and Services and provides a focal point for customers and partners. We provide support for the Gripen system including a range of products and services e.g. technical support, maintenance, ground support equipment, component repair, services for advanced electronic systems, as well as advanced logistics supply services. We also offer maintenance concepts as well as production and implementation of various parts of other maintenance solutions to customers in all domains.
Department Maintenance Production are now looking for a Head of Engineering. The section consists of 45 emplyees divided in 3 teams/Groups, where 1 of the team reports directly to the Head of engineering (Approx 5 ) and the other 2 teams reports to the Team managers, one team in Malmslätt and the other in Arboga.
Your role
You will lead and manage a team consisting of managers and leaders. You will also be part of a numbers of projects in terms of Products and MRO development but also regarding Operations and Business development.
You will report direct to the Director of the Department and will be a very importent part of the management team. You will work closely and together on a daily basis with the Production, Purshasing department, Planning, Quality and Staff as well as other departments within the Business Unit and adjacent Business Units.
The position will require travel due to the area of responsibillity in both Linköping and Arboga.
Your skills and experience
We put great emphasis on personal characteristics for the position, as well as securing a high performing, co-operative management team for the Department. You have appropriate professional or postgraduate qualification in a technical discipline.
You are a committed and driven manager with preferably previous experience in leading leaders. For this role you need to have strong communicative skills and the ability to enthuse and motivate others in your surroundings. You have a leadership style that encourages an open, trustful and innovative culture. It is important to be able to work in cooperation with stakeholders such as other Departments and Business Units within Saab.
You are a confident communicator in both Swedish and English. You share information in a clear and easy way, both verbally and in writing.
The position entails working with classified information. Therefore, you are required to patticipate in and pass a security test conducted by authority.
