What you will be a part of
Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions, and traffic management systems.
Business unit Radar Solutions has global responsibility for Saab's ground-based and naval surface radar systems, as well as airborne surveillance solutions and fighter radar. The business unit is also responsible for missile datalinks and laser rangefinders. The unit has around 1100 employees and offices around the world, with the largest sites being Gothenburg (SE) and Syracuse (US).
Unit Engineering is responsible for the three engineering's units - Airborne Engineering, Surface Engineering and Radar Engineering. Areas of responsibility includes:
Design responsibility for subsystems
Project Management
System Management
Concept Development
Integrated Logistic Support
System safety
Environmental analysis and testing
Detailed design in following areas:
Antenna and Microwave design
Software design
Digital design
Mechanical design
Power system design
Engineering has around 490 employees in Gothenburg.
Your role
We are looking for the Head of Engineering within business unit Radar Solutions. The unit has design responsibility on all levels for subsystems for our radar portfolio, and for antenna and microwave subsystems to all radar and electronic warfare products for business area Surveillance, including supporting all phases of delivering the contracts. Engineering is responsible for delivering in time at agreed cost in our projects, as well as for meeting our cost reduction targets for development and manufacturing.
You will be part of the business unit Radar Solutions management team and report to the Head of Radar Solutions. In our management team all members contributes with their individual experiences and skills to create an effective and dynamic environment. You are expected not only to work with your individual area of responsibility, being a member of the management team also means that you interact and take part in other units' challenges.
Two major challenges for head of Engineering is the ongoing merge of two separate engineering organisations and the coming transformation from a hardware company to a software Company.
Your skills and experience
Radar Solutions is a new organisation, created from the merge of two previous business units. This means, it is even more important to focus on efficiency and profitability. Your key task will include creating a common ways of working where needed and culture alignment.
We are looking for a person with excellent change leadership skills and the ability to empower employees. As a manager, you will demonstrate communicative leadership skills in order to create commitment and energy within the organisation. Your ability to establish a performance driven culture within your unit will be of outmost importance.
