Is what you'll do as our next Head of Engineering. While in the search of a new Head of Engineering I usually see that it really comes down to finding someone who is bright, and also very curious about solving problems, with a high likeability factor. Likeability is sort of important when it comes to leading talented humans, and successfully scaling a department in a Lightning Bolt pace. Let's agree to agree on that.

Well, wouldn't we both just say that a great leader inspires, is honest and has a sense of humour? And let's agree that you as our next Head of Engineering strive to motivate our 20 engineers in daring to break new grounds and stepping outside of their comfort zones while @ keyboard.
Through previous trial and error as a leader of a tech-team (also known as work experience) you've realised that great communication skills are the foundation for being a solid and productive leader, and you know you're usually measured on how much productivity you're able to get out of your team. And when you do all of those leadership-thingies like discussing salaries, career developments, coaching and recruiting new Fyndians to join your team you mix just the right amount of EQ with IQ.
Your challenge for 2015...
Will be to scale the engineering department while maintaining a happy and healthy team. It's important that all Fyndians are happy Fyndians, but you understand why it's extra crucial for an entrepreneurial tech company to keep its innovative engineers encouraged and engaged. You'll guide and lead the engineers over the hills and valleys, and speak up when it comes to curves one should slow down in. Even if you don't need to get your hands dirty with code you'll be there to discuss things from a technical perspective and have the overall responsibility for planning all technical projects and solutions which the engineering team is working on. You will also take full responsibility that together with the team ensure that the systems and services that Fyndiq offers consumers and merchants is available and functioning correctly from a technical point of view.
And what about this Fyndiq?
In 2014 Fyndiq was announced one of Europe's' fastest growing tech startups and since the five founders' launched the marketplace platform in 2010 Fyndiq has managed to break even, close an investment round of 150 MSEK and is now preparing to cross borders and turn internationally.
Currently, we're 78 left and right brained talents (that number will change as we're averaging on 2 new Fyndians per week), who all shape the unique and exciting work environment we take part of. Hey, we believe that if we're going to spend 5 days a week at work, it's sort of important to have great colleagues, a nice office and an interesting company culture.
