Klarna is looking for a Head of Corporate Development to the office in Sweden.
Since our start in 2005, Klarna has grown at a remarkable rate. We are currently 650 employees strong and operate in 6 countries. And as we keep expanding into new markets, we will continue to grow at a triple digit growth rate.
Business Development at Klarna has been creating new products within the scope of Klarna?s strategy and finding ancillary revenue that will increase profit per transaction as well as scale with the business. We team up with partners to create an environment in which our merchants can understand and improve their business as well as deal with one-off issues outside the ordinary course of commerce.
We are looking to expand the team and build a framework for strategic partnerships and M&A within Klarna. Therefore, we are looking for someone to build our Corporate Development function.
Responsibilities
You will construct Klarna?s Corporate Development function so that it can:
• Identify and evaluate tactical partnerships that support Klarna?s strategy
• Drive management team decisions
• Conduct due diligence and drive term sheet and contract negotiations for Klarna
• Lead complex projects to full integration with Klarna at-large
Since this is a new function, you will be expected to set up a framework and scale its function to support Klarna?s tremendous growth. You will report directly to the Chief Business Development Officer.
Requirements include:
• at least 8 years work experience, preferably in Corporate Finance/Venture Capital, Management Consulting, or Corporate and Business Development
• experience from a high growth environment (payments, financial services or the online industry is a plus)
• a university degree to back up your work experience
• excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
• demonstrated abilities to negotiate complex deals, think strategically, and understand nuanced product issues
• exceptional communication and presentation skills
• demonstrated ability to clarify and summarize complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans
• excellent project management experience, with the ability to lead and handle multiple time-sensitive, cross-functional projects
• strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• an ability to work effectively and cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externally
• being a rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment
