Responsibilities:
• Formulate, refresh and enhance local compliance policies commercial, Medical) to satisfy market laws and self-regulatory codes, and ensure implementation in close cooperation with General Managers, Finance, and Law.
• Ensure the compliance program addresses all expectations of US-headquartered companies.
• Act as an experienced senior advisor to and member of the BMS CHAT (Switzerland/Austria) and BMS Nordics Leadership Teams.
• Facilitate and co-chair the BMS Austria, BMS Nordics, and BMS Switzerland Compliance Committees.
• Challenge the status quo and strive to simplify business processes and procedural documents.
• Participate in, and/or lead, projects with a global compliance focus, and interact closely with global compliance team, including participation in centers of excellence.
• Formulate, refresh and enhance local compliance policies (Commercial, Medical).
• Develop and deliver compliance training (periodic and ad hoc) and communications.
• Provide day-to-day operational compliance advice to Business Units stakeholders and functional leaders.
• Regularly liaise with Business Units and functional leaders (Law, Finance/Business Controls Function, Human Resources, Enterprise Services/Information Technology, etc.) concerning the operation of the market compliance program.
• Provide day-to-day operational compliance advice to BU stakeholders and functional leaders to drive and enhance the compliance culture.
• Design and oversee operation of BMS CHAT and BMS Nordics compliance monitoring programs.
• Supervise investigations and drive corrective actions (non-disciplinary), as warranted.
• Drive continuous assessment (multi-source) and improvement of the market compliance programs, in collaboration with Business Units stakeholders and functional leaders.
• Continuously report up to regional leadership significant matters regarding the market compliance programs.
• Lead C&E?s participation in periodic internal audits and execution of audit follow-up actions assigned to C&E.
• Member of EMAC Compliance Leadership Team.
• Member of Compliance & Ethics COEs as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Masters?/ Advanced Degree preferably in related fields (e.g. Compliance, Law). JD with 3+ years of compliance experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
• Solid experience in the Pharmaceutical industry and strong Compliance experience. Prior experience with compliance programs is required.
• Strong experience with US pharmaceutical industry practices and laws, including the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (US FCPA).
• Strong experience with European laws and self-regulatory codes, including EFPIA and the UK Bribery Act.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry practices and laws in multiple countries.
• Prior compliance, investigations, litigation, analytic and/or monitoring experience.
• Successful experience in cross-functional interactions.
• Ability to discuss controversial topics with senior executive leadership and obtain their buy-in.
• Superior personal integrity and ethics, including an exceptional sense of discretion.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of English and at least one additional language spoken in the markets at Fluent Level, both written & spoken.
