About the team
In the Applied AI team our core mission is to take our clients' AI projects from idea to production, delivering value every day. We do so by exploring, scoping, planning, and executing machine learning projects together with our clients.
Applied AI is an important part of Peltarion's data science department known as The Menagerie, which also comprises AI Research and Expert Services.
About the role
We are looking for a Head of Applied AI to join our data science leadership team and be a manager and a source of inspiration for the data scientists in our Applied AI team.
Your tasks include:
Leading a team of data scientists in their day-to-day activities, both internally and externally with clients or other organizations.
Coaching and mentoring the team to develop their skills.
Keeping up with and contributing to the latest developments in the field of AI.
Communicating findings in written and oral form, i.e. research articles, blog articles, and talks at conferences, meet-ups, and for stakeholders.
We need you to have
An educational or professional background in machine learning, artificial intelligence or a related scientific discipline. At least 3 years of experience in a senior DS or similar role. We also believe you have the following skills in your CV:
Proven leadership qualities - ability to lead, coach and mentor
Theoretical understanding of and hands-on experience with modern machine learning
Experience with data wrangling and machine learning using Python, R, Matlab or similar languages and tools
Experience with version control systems and related tools on a linux-like system
Excellent communication and presentation skills
