AI will be a natural part of military defence in the future. Your role
As Head of AI & Tactical Autonomy, you will lead an essential area of the newly formed Future Design department. The overall responsibility for Future Design is to act as a catalyst and hub for design tasks, concepts and technology needed to advance our abilities going forward. Future Design will be a focal part in leading the execution of assignments geared toward future research and development for combat aircraft systems.
AI & Tactical Autonomy is responsible for AI enhancements to current fighter systems, but also for increasing maturity of next generation AI and autonomy technologies for next generation weapon systems. The organization consists of specialists, senior engineers, researchers and several industrial PhD students, and have a clear growth potential for both junior and senior positions.
AI & Tactical Autonomy is a key actor for driving change and synchronizing AI & Autonomy research across Saab. The area is also driver for a Center of Excellence in Data Utilization with the ambition to create a more data driven culture and new frameworks across the company, e.g. to enable more advanced AI and Autonomy research.
In order to mature and prioritize relevant technologies it is crucial to understand Saab's business plan and how to build a broad network within each technology across Saab and with academia since most of the research projects stretches over several technical domains.
You will be part of the Management Team of Future Design, shaping the department and strategy going forward, in close co-operation within the Gripen Design business unit, other business units and departments within the Saab group. You are a team player who actively contribute in the Management Team. You will report to the Head of Future Design.

Future Design is a part of business unit Gripen Design which have the overall responsibility for design, development, production, testing, delivery and operation of the complete Gripen E weapon system to Sweden, Gripen E and F to Brazil, as well as design and development of future fighter platforms.
