Head Architect for Cloud Services
It is highly probable that at some point in time your data has passed through technology from DigitalRoute. If you turn on the heating in your house, travel by airplane, buy a train ticket or make a call with your phone from anywhere in the world, there is a great chance that the company behind these services use our technology as an enabler. At our head office, located in the center of Stockholm, you will have the opportunity to work on some of today's most existing problems in big data and real-time data stream processing and apply DigitalRoute's magic and neural network processing along the way.
You will join an amazing team that has a 19-year history of product innovation in high-performance computing, data integration and machine learning. We are now looking for a Head Architect for Cloud Services, reporting to the Head of Engineering, to join our team.
About the Role
As a Head Architect, you will be a part of a small team of peers setting the architectural direction of our products and platforms. We believe that you love to create massively scalable Cloud-based services using tools such as Node.js, Kubernetes, Kafka and the AWS suite. On top of being a top contributor, you are also a skilled evangelist of your technologies of choice and used to discuss the pros and cons of different solutions with individuals at different organizational and technical levels.
At DigitalRoute, our Head Architects typically take an active part in the development process and work closely with the development teams. The company currently has 10 development teams, whereof 2 work full time on the Cloud Service and they would be your main responsibility. In your day-to-day work, you will coach and mentor these teams in the process of creating high quality software.
As a Head Architect you will
• Participate and lead architecture discussions and planning together with peer Architects and Product Management to deliver great software
• Be a top-level technical contributor within the Cloud Services projects
• Ensure that we build scalable and replicable solutions by fully embracing concepts such as Infrastructure-as-code, elastic auto-scaling and auto-healing
• Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices throughout the product and technology organization.
• Drive change where it is needed
• Evangelize technologies, concepts and solutions to ensure buy-in from the wider organization

Who you are
• Experienced Architect and software engineer
• We believe that you have been a part of building and launching SaaS offerings on a major Cloud Platform
• You are experienced in coaching and mentoring software development teams and delivering stable software of high quality together with the team in a DevOps model
• Solid experience of working in an agile development environment
• A believer in our leadership philosophy that focuses on aligning, empowering and supporting the team to run at full pace, grow in their careers and love their jobs
