The group mission within Electrical Distribution & Installation is to design wiring harness and to secure installations of all electrical owned components throughout concept phase up to serial production and maintenance while optimizing demands on quality, deliveries, cost and features (QDCF).
Job description:
Working as harness designer means that you will contribute to the technical development within the area. You will be designing harness in saber and install components in a virtual environment using Catia V5.
The development work is mainly project based and you will be involved in the whole chain, from supplier evaluation, product development, industrialization, sales and to the aftermarket.
This includes responsibilities like:
Design electrical installations in vehicles in respect of environmental stress, production and aftermarket requirements
Setting requirements on installations towards suppliers
Contributing to developing the area regarding process and methods
Participating in evaluating suppliers
Test and verification of installations implemented in a module or vehicle
Design and be responsible for electrical wiring diagrams and harness
Support project builds within the responsible area
Create needed documentation for production regarding electrical systems and the components you are responsible for
Working with maintenance and quality items
Support and secure smooth introduction in production and aftermarket within the responsible area/components
Qualifications:
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Experience equivalent to 3-5 years of automotive experience
Specific knowledge of designing electrical installations in vehicle applications
General experience of hardware design
Experience of working with CAD tools
It is also beneficial if you have experience of working with heavy duty vehicles
You must have good communication skills in English, both speaking and writing. You should have a structured way of working. Working as a Mechanical Engineer with the electrical system means working together with many other people from different technical skills and cultures and you therefore need to be open and sociable. You shall be able to take own initiatives, be flexible in planning your daily work and have a strong interest in driving for improvements.
