What we offer
The ART Electrical Infrastructure offers the possibility to work with a mixture of EDS, Electrical Design, ELP and EMC related issues for all vehicle lines within Volvo Cars. The ART also offers the opportunity to learn the agile way of working adapting the full SAFe configuration in a HW product, which will require more interactions among the designers and developers within and outside the ART, thereby increasing your network.
Small Harness teams are responsible for the design work done in-house from concept phases to production. They handle design and development of Roof, Doors, Tailgate and Bumpers ad ETC adapter harnesses.
What you'll do
As a Harness Design Engineer, you are responsible for developing EDS components from concept phase to the final product (build to print) and will work closely with other team members within the ART and suppliers, as well as interfacing with designers and developers outside the ART. The role also includes participating in concept studies and initiation of harness development. The role requires implementing an agile mindset of design and development in daily work in which teamwork is highly valued. You will also be responsible of keeping contact with suppliers regarding updates and changes, handle and determine possible redesigns to solve issues found in testing and manufacturing and for handling design related quality issues. Further you will support other units by supplying the product information ensuring that correct harnesses are ordered and delivered into the assembly plant.
You and your skills
You have experience in automotive harness design and development, manufacturing and the manufacturing process. You have a University degree in Engineering or equivalent working experience and your English is fluent (written and spoken).You have CAD tool experience, preferably working with CATIA V5 (Electrical) and CHS.
KDP and Teamcentre experience is meritorious together with knowledge about Volvo Cars product development process or agile development process full SAFe configuration.
