The R&D team is responsible for driving the product offerings from concept to completion and through sustainment. We are in the beginning of the process of creating a hardware center of excellence in Malmö. This position will be a key part of that new, world-class team.
The Opportunity
The Hardware Engineer is responsible for leading all technical aspects of the activities necessary to take a design from concept to production and sustainment. This will include writing specifications for our ODM, reviewing schematics and layout, creating and executing on validation plans. It will also include performing root cause analysis, providing feedback directly to suppliers or customers and contributing to improvements in the development process.
In addition to the above your area of responsibility will include but not be limited to:
• Working closely with ODM companies to ensure their capabilities and designs meet our needs
• Creating and maintaining required documentation including product technical specifications, work procedures, testing standards and reports
• Perform cost estimates and risk analysis on requests, designs and solutions
• Generate test plans and execute validation testing
• Implement engineering change requests
• Executing root cause analysis investigations
We also expect you to keep abreast of the latest developments in engineering and applies the latest principles to product designs.
The successful candidate
To be successfull in this role we believe you are familiar with touchscreen and display technology and implementation. You have a history that includes schematic capture and PCB layout, but this part of the job is not critical for your happiness. You enjoy writing specifications, test plans and working closely with international design and manufacturing companies. You also have experience with DFM/DFMA, and place a high priority on manufacturability and quality.
In addition to the above items, you will have previous experience with:
• High speed design and signal integrity analysis
• Electronic and firmware design of microprocessor based embedded hardware
• Test and validation of electronic and firmware designs
Your formal background is probably Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering paired with at least 4-9 years of relevant work experience.
