Our environment today consists of more than 90000 desktops that today are in a transition phase towards a centralized operations model. Our main customer is the Volvo group but we also provide desktop solutions for external customers.
The Volvo IT global hardware team is looking for a highly skilled Windows Desktop technician who will work with hardware drivers, OSD, RIS,SCCM and WDDK. The work will also include root cause analysis, fault-tracing and both short-term/workarounds and long-term solutions.
The work will be focused taking part in the Global Hardware Team that consists of one team leader and a set of technicians. The daily tasks consist of releasing new driver packages for both new and old PC models in WXP, WXP64 and Windows 7. It also includes updating older drivers and third line support. The daily operation also includes performing tests and to verify and distribute drivers for peripherals during The city of Stockholm migration to Windows 7.
Technical competence requirements:
• Skilled in Windows Server (2003 & 2008)
• Highly Skilled in Windows Desktop (XP and Windows7)
• Skilled in Windows Scripting knowledge
• Highly Skilled in Group Policy and Preference technologies
• Highly Skilled in Windows Deployment Services/RIS
• Skilled in Systems Management Server
• Skilled in System Center Configuration Manger
• Skilled in Windows Printing
• Highly skilled working with hardware drivers both prepare for installation and to create packages
• Highly skilled in test and evaluating functionality hardware
• General competence requirements:
• Skilled in documentation
• Speaks and writes English fluently
