Jeppesen is looking for a Hardware and Infrastructure Expert, who will work as an expert within several implementation projects, deploying our crew scheduling solutions to airlines around the world. You will work in close cooperation with our clients, acting as our expert on hardware setup, sizing, software installation, deployment etc.
Within the role of Hardware and Infrastructure Expert you will participate within several implementation projects, guiding the clients on their required hardware sizing as well as configuration for running our applications, supporting the projects in deploying the applications properly within the client's different environments etc. You will also be a key player in deciding the department's internal hardware needs and requirements for the future. You will be based in Gothenburg although travel is expected from time to time.
To be considered for this position you must have:
• At least 5 years in the IT business
• Enterprise class Hardware and infrastructure knowledge
• Linux, database and enterprise systems administration skills
• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• You will be working directly with our clients, which require high level communication skills, including speaking English fluently.
It would be preferable to have:
• Knowledge of Python, java, shell scripting and versioning systems
• Experience of system installation and integration
• Experience of on-line systems with high availability requirements
• Experience of HPC, grid computing
• Experience of messaging middleware, Apache Qpid, IBM Websphere MQ is merited
• Experience of VmWare and setting up virtual machines is merited
