The work focuses on analyses of optical and incoherent radar measurements of aurora for understanding of the response of the Earth's ionosphere-thermosphere system to fast variations of the charged particle fluxes emanating from the magnetosphere.
Qualifications:
PhD in space physics with focus on the magnetosphere-ionosphere interaction. Experience and knowledge of the analysis of auroral optical images and EISCAT radar data is an advantage.
The work imposes high demands regarding independent and precise working style as well as the ability to show initiative. An ability to work well in a team and with external partners is a requirement. Emphasis will be given to the individual aptitude of the candidate.
The position is placed in Kiruna, Sweden, and is limited to two (2) months full-time work. Starting date is as soon as possible.
