School of Health and Welfare is one of four schools within Jönköping University, Sweden. The School of Health and Welfare provides education and research of the highest quality in health, care and social work with the goal of maintaining and improving the health of individuals and populations. The School of Health and Welfare strives to operate in close contact with its social setting by being flexible to the needs of society and by working with other schools and universities, companies and organizations. This has resulted in innovations and improvement being natural parts of the education.
Cooperating in research involving both national and international participants generates unique knowledge for society. Research forms a foundation for quality and development and is an important source of inspiration for the students.

Working tasks
The position comprises education activities, including teaching at Bachelor and Master level as well as within the research school of Health and Welfare. Teaching is performed in English and distributed over the different parts of the academic year.
Besides teaching, the holder of the position is expected to do research and to collaborate with School of Health and Welfare in producing new knowledge, and getting externally funded research grants, and to strengthen the school?s reputation in the focus of Health and Welfare.

The following qualifications are mandatory for all applicants:
Ph.D. in Human Development and Aging.
Excellence in research and experience of successful research grant application as well as previous collaboration with the School of Health and Welfare.
Research that involves cross-cultural understanding and social policies in various contexts in relation to elderly people, as well as empowerment of older persons.
Proven experience of teaching in areas relevant for Health and Welfare.
Pedagogical education or equivalent, as well as evidence of pedagogical skills.
Fluency in written and spoken English and ability to teach and examine courses using English.

The following are considered as merits for the position:
Academic leadership experience (e.g. Program coordinator, Director of Studies, project management)
Experience from collaboration and interaction with private, public and voluntary sector organizations.
