The purpose of the position is to manage all aspect of Window Server OS, Active Directory, Exchange and Citrix deployments
Reports to
Group Core System Manager
The job (main areas of responsibility)
• Create and maintain standard builds for all Microsoft Window Server and Citrix Deployments
• Manage and maintain the Active Directory infrastructure and logical configuration
• Manage and maintain the Exchange Email environment and the associated gateways and security products
• Manage the patching and updates of the Microsoft server estate
• Maintain the infrastructure required for managing desktop patching and configuration
• Work with the Head of IT Security to ensure solution are secure and compliant with policies
• Configure and maintain the ability to federate with external suppliers such as Azure, Office365, and Amazon Web Services
Required mobility/travel days
Infrequent travel required, and when required will not consistently be more than 3 days at a time; however there may be a rare occasion where travel will be required in excess of 3 days.
Your experience (required previous work experience and competence)
• At least 10 years' experience in an IT technical background, with at least 5 years practical experience of managing Window based server infrastructure using Active Directory
• Excellent up-to-date knowledge of current and developing Microsoft developments; including all elements of Server OS, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, IIS
• Experience deploying and managing Group Policy Objects to manage an estate's configuration
• Active Directory experience including the allocation of FSMO roles, site link topology
• Experience running a Citrix, XenApp or Xen Desktop
• Need to have a broad set of technical skills, which allow to provide world class support for core Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, while still being able to assist application in deploying new server solution which are based upon the Microsoft Platform
Your formal background (required qualifications and training)
• Preferably IT; Business; or Science degree, plus relevant Microsoft technical qualifications.
Personal characteristics
You should have a great attention to detail and accuracy, and be open and flexible to adapt to changing needs and situation.
Required language skills
English (written and spoken).
