We always use customer satisfaction as the ultimate performance measurement.Responsibilities / Main tasks The Sweden organization has the full worldwide Product platform responsibility for Heavy Duty Engines and transmission. It is as well responsible for the installation of Heavy duty powertrains in European Volvo Products. Driveline department is responsible to deliver a complete transmission/driveline system for both conventional powertrains as for electrified drivelines. You will lead "Clutch and Shifting Controls" group who are responsible for controlling the clutch and shifting system for all AMT gearboxes on all markets where Volvo Group is present.The group has lead on features like take-off, shift comfort and shift performance. There is a trade-off to be made in order to find the optimal compromise between shift speed and comfort as well as take-off speed and comfort. The team is constantly striving to find better control solutions in order to minimize the trade-off. The driver can select a number of different driving modes to help the shifting system to select the optimal control for the current driving situation.The work is performed using a systems approach with graphical programming tools like Simulink and Ascet. A closed loop virtual simulation environment is used for daily development but the team frequently builds complete transmission ECU software in order to perform testing and calibration in rigs or in vehicle. Even though the task of clutch and shifting is heavy on the control theory side there is also a large subjective part which calls for close cooperation with our customers. The team frequently visits our field tests and takes part in clinics. As part of the team everyone get their own truck driving license in order to verify functionality in vehicle and thereby getting a better understanding of our customers.We apply an agile framework way of working and are taking our main inspiration from SAFe.Your main responsibilities will be:Employee lifecycle responsibility for direct reports including recruitment, performance and competence development. Provide coaching and guidance to employees to ensure deliveries and personal developmentLead the development of new technologies within the Transmission SW areaDevelop way of working to secure quality and efficiencyBuild up, develop and long term secure the needed competence and capacity within the teamSet and follow up targets for the teamWho are you? You possess a flexible mindset with ability to lead change and take decisions, and ability to be clear and concise in communication.You are holding a University/Master or Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent experienceYou have a proven experience within Powertrain developmentYou are well experienced in operating in a global environment both in handling suppliers and well as working with our different sites, markets and brandsYou enjoy balancing between strategic plans and short-term activities.
