At the forefront of Research and Development in the automotive industry, Volvo Group Truck Technology (GTT) offers you the opportunity to become the manager of our team in charge of software and algorithm development for Traffic Situation Management and Volvo Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This team belongs to the Vehicle Automation department with the responsibility of leading the development of Vehicle Automation and Active Safety systems for the full life-cycle enabling tomorrow's trucks. Vehicle Automation is a part of Vehicle Engineering responsible for developing vehicle components and systems for the Truck brands within the Volvo Group.
You will work in close cooperation with other parties within the GTT organization, as well as world class industrial players and academia.
Mission
Your mission as a manager for Traffic Situation Management is to coach and challenge the team to secure the value in our deliveries and to build an innovative work environment. Your team's main responsibility is to take the product ownership over time for ADAS functionality including research, concept studies, industrialization and maintenance. Safety is a significant part of Volvo DNA and ADAS/AD is a major contributor to traffic safety.
The technical scope for your group's responsibility is to develop software and algorithms for prediction, path planning and vehicle control. The TSM module is part of the ADAS and AD stack and you will work in close cooperation with your colleagues at Vehicle Automation to secure the performance of the full stack.
Leading teams of highly skilled engineers at Vehicle Automation requires a strong background in SW engineering. It is your task to constantly challenge the teams to improve the current way of working and to be at the forefront of software engineering practices.
As a member of our management team you will also contribute to the strategic work at the Vehicle Automation department.

Profile
You are an energetic, passionate leader, "thinking outside the box" type of person with the courage to influence our culture by taking action. You like working in teams with an agile mindset, have a Master of Science degree and minimum 5-year's management experience in an automotive related or other software intense industry.
