Group Manager Surface Technology & Testing
The Materials Technology groups at GTT are serving Volvo Group and Volvo Car Group in the field of applied metallic materials technology. We offer competence and development resources for product and process development. Materials Technology has a modern laboratory for metallurgical analyses and advanced equipment for testing of materials properties. Our specialists work globally with internal and external customers.
We are looking for a Group Manger with metallic materials technology experience. You will be responsible for a group of 18 specialists in the field of surface technology, powder metallurgy, mechanical testing, bolted joint technology, electrical materials, for the mechanical workshop and for the sample preparation.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
As the group manager you have the privilege to manage a team of high professionals in a truly global environment. Our customers as well as our sites are distributed on several continents both inside and outside Volvo.
In this role you are expected to contribute to and drive initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to influence processes and way of working in the Base Engine and Materials Technology management team.
• Continuous improvement of process and delivered services
• Promote and develop methodology supporting System engineering, system testing, simulation tools with a theoretical approach
• Responsible for groups deliveries
• Inspire and coach the members in your team
• Team development and continuous improvement activities.

Profile:
You have an open and positive attitude, drive to improve yourself and the group, you are a frequent communicator, and have courage and confidence to give and take feedback
As a leader you lead by example in terms of attitude, global networking, service and you support your team to perform at their best.
Qualifications:
• Managerial or leadership experience
• Technical education: MSc or equivalent
• Previous experience from a metallic laboratory is a merit
• Product knowledge of the Heavy Duty Engine platform is an advantage, but not a must
• Proficient in English language
