The Simulation group is a part of the Technology organization at Volvo Autonomous Solutions. We design state-of-the-art simulation facilities in hardware and software, to make sure we develop the right product, and we develop our product right.
Our collective mission is to create safe automation solutions helping our customers reach sustainability and productivity goals. Iterating our ideas rapidly and with precision, through simulations, is a crucial part of this journey.

The group you will lead consists of three agile teams, focusing on Software-in-the-Loop, Hardware-in-the-Loop and Cloud-in-the-Loop testing and simulations. They are brilliant, long-running teams, that are always ready for new technical adventures; open mind, respect and problem solving are the values put first by the teams themselves.

How you will make an impact
You are responsible for inspiring, supporting and leading the Simulation topic within the Infrastructure area.
Your three teams currently consist of 15 highly skilled engineers with diverse personalities and backgrounds, and you will be on top of defining how to achieve the best and continuously improving work situation for them. You are also on a mission to find new members complementing your existing strengths in competence and character since you are responsible for a very expansive technical area.
Together you are accountable for the simulation environment that allows development teams to test their integrated solution ever closer to the physical vehicle: from single-vehicle software simulation in a cutting edge, realistic 3D environment, through full fleet simulations in the cloud, and all the way to hardware simulation based on the actual production vehicle specifications.
With a strong move towards testing in a virtual environment to increase safety, by enabling a greater range of test cases than physical testing allows, your area is really at the heart of what we do here at Volvo Autonomous Solutions. You will support your team in collaboration with other development and verification teams and provide the absolute best user experience one can imagine!
You will also greatly influence the vision and strategy of the entire Safety & Technical Compliance domain, being a key member of the management team. Together you will strike the right balance between existing Volvo processes and tools and combine them with the state-of-the-art solutions on the market. You will be encouraged to dream big, dare to fail, and always invest time in personal development.
Who are you?

As this job is all about collaboration, we believe you are a good listener and communicator and that it is easy for you to connect with other people.
Our working environment is highly international, and hence you need to be proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Knowledge and expertise in simulation (automotive or otherwise) are beneficial. However, we believe your potential, personality, and ability to understand new contexts quickly and efficiently is more important than having them today.
