The R&D Department for Loaders and Trucks is looking for a Manager for the Hydraulic & Powertrain Group.
The R&D Department for Loaders and Trucks, LHD, is in an exciting and challenging phase. Our goal is to continue increasing our skills and experience, supporting the production of existing equipment and working on the development of the new product range.
The Machines
The machines are used in underground mines all around the world, normally in very harsh environments where the demands on safety, reliability and productivity are very high.
Today the Loaders cover a range from 3.6 to 15 tons of lifting capacity and the Trucks cover sizes from 20 to 60 tons of payload capacity. The range includes mainly diesel driven-, but also electric driven machines and with technology levels from simple to fully automated machines.
Job description
Together with stakeholders within the organization:
• Establish product goals and ensuring that these are met
• Create a strong working group with the right skills and the right number of resources

• Compliance with legal requirements
As Group Manager you will have an important role in the LHD R&D Department and work closely with the other Group Managers.
The Hydraulic & Powertrain Group has responsibility for hydraulics and powertrains on our loaders and trucks. The Powertrain includes all components that get the vehicle moving, i.e. tires, rims, axles, driveline, transmission, engine and surrounding systems as fuel-, cooling-, air intake- and exhaust systems.
Your task as a Group Manager is to develop technology and practices in the areas of the group?s responsibility.
The job will involve many contacts with people both inside and outside the Division, including sales companies, customers, suppliers and other Atlas Copco units around the world.
Today the Hydraulic & Powertrain Group consists of 9 employees, for whom you will have full staff responsibility and you will manage and allocate the work in the group.
You must be prepared to take full responsibility and to work independently. You are proactive and have good analytical skills. You like to cooperate; it is an outward-looking job with many contacts, both internally and externally.
Skills and Knowledge
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent knowledge), with 4-5 years practical experience from mobile hydraulics and/or powertrains.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to organize and structure work in a dynamic environment and in collaboration with colleagues. You have the talent to coach, motivate and engage your employees.
Experience in designing construction machinery is desirable; experience in project management is meritorious.
English; spoken and written.
Very good interpersonal skills and interest in working in groups.
