Platform Development is a function within Global Product Development (GPD) at Volvo Buses. We are responsible for developing platform solutions within the areas of Chassis, Body in white, Body, Powertrain and Electrical. The main sites are located in Sweden and Brazil.
Volvo Buses is now seeking a Group Manager for Driveline within Chassis & Driveline Development who has the drive and passion to contribute to Volvo buses profitability and who sees that the key to success is to develop people and technologies to have products meeting future challenges.
The group is responsible for development and integration of engines, gearboxes, retarder and driven axle in close cooperation with suppliers and Group Trucks Technology. The group are also responsible for the design of fuel, air inlet, exhaust after treatment system and other supporting systems. The size of the group is about 15 engineers.
Some important challenges for the group are to secure technology and competence development, strengthen and increase the teamwork within and outside the organization and to improve efficiency by simplifying the way of working.
Main tasks
• Develop the group and the people to support future challenges contributing to Volvo Buses profitability
• To have and drive the Product ownership for the technology area
• Secure good network within and outside Volvo Group
• Define, agree, communicate and execute strategies and targets for the group
• Deliver technical solutions to start cost, maintenance and advanced engineering projects according to quality, delivery, cost and feature targets
In this position you will also be part of the Chassis & Driveline Development management team, and report to Chassis & Driveline Development Department manager.
