Group Manager Application and Infrastructure Management

The Volvo Car Group IT organisation in Olofström is the hub between production and IT and the main focus is to provide our customers with robust and lean IT solutions, to continuously work to find synergies and to increase efficiency. We are also deeply involved in discussion teams both locally and globally, regarding strategy decision. Our vision is to make IT become the enabler for our business, move fast - aim high! In the team in Olofström we are about fifteen IT professionals, working in a governance organisation. The team consists of dedicated IT specialists in different roles, handling both local and global deliveries including support and maintenance as well as new development of IT applications and infrastructure.

As a Group Manager Application and Infrastructure Management you will report to the IT Site Manager. The position is based in Olofström at Volvo Car Body Components (VCBC) with a global setup that requires a high flexibility when it comes to travel and ability to work in virtual teams and structures.

Main responsibilities

• Manage and coach the VCBC IT team with employees, consultants and bought services agreements in implementation and in everyday operation
• Responsible for organisational management including resource planning, resource acquisition, employee development, employee skill development, employee satisfaction and workload management for the involved group.
• Manage customer relations with focus on operational key performance indicators
• Drive continuous improvements in terms of making life less complicated for VCBC IT customers, team members, and other stakeholders
• Provide technical leadership and create high-level designs for IT environment aligned with the VCC and Group IT strategy
• Manage local IT including life cycle planning, prioritisation, monitoring, control and governance
• Lead and plan the team activities

Required qualifications

• University degree/Master degree in IT, or equivalent experience
• At least 5 years of progressive responsibilities in IT managerial positions
• Fluent in English, both oral and written
• Experience with IT Applications and infrastructure used in manufacturing environments will be an asset
• Experience in Supplier Management is meritorious
• ITIL knowledge and/or certification is meritorious
• Project Management process and methodology knowledge is meritorious
