Position Description
Platform Development is a function within Global Product Development (GPD) at Volvo Buses. We are responsible for developing platform solutions within the areas of Chassis Body in white, Body, Powertrain and Electrical. The main sites are located in Sweden and Brazil.
Volvo Buses is now seeking an experienced Group Manager for Electrical Distribution & Installation within Electrical & Electronics Development who has the drive and passion to contribute to Volvo buses profitability and who sees that the key to success is to develop the organization and its people in meeting future challenges.
The Electrical & Electronics Department has the mission to develop the electrical system through concept phases up to serial production and maintenance while optimising demands on quality, deliveries, cost and features(QDCF).
The group is responsible for development of complete chassis wiring harnesses as well as installation of all Electrical & Electronic components in the vehicle. The team consist of a mix between direct employees and consultants adding up to approximately 18 people.
Some important challenges for the group are to secure competence broadening, strengthen and increase the teamwork within and outside the organization and work to improve efficiency by simplifying the way of working together with Group Trucks Technology and internally.
Main tasks
• Deliver start cost, maintenance and advanced engineering projects according to quality, delivery, cost and feature targets.
• Define, agree, communicate and execute strategies and targets for the group
• Prioritize and direction setting for short and long term activities
• Ensuring that laws and labor agreements are fulfilled
• Approve technical documentation for the teams technical area
• Drive and implement Lean with the focus to create an organization where:
• We actively work to understand customer needs and usage

• We are an adaptive and agile organization
• We give and ask for support
• We take responsibility for the full delivery
In this position you will also be part of the Electrical & Electronics management team, and report to Electrical & Electronics Department manager.
Profile
• Business oriented with a clear customer focus
• Experience from automotive development, preferably within Electrical distribution
• Holistic view and ability to work cross functionally and build strong relations
• Eager to learn and work with your own development
• High integrity, trust and ability to follow trough
• Experience from leader positions is an advantage.
• University/Master's degree in engineering or equivalent
• Fluent in English spoken and written
