The section Advanced Engineering within Propulsive Power Systems has responsibility for leading the combustion engine design work during early phases, as well as for systems engineering, attribute analysis and combustion system development throughout the engine development process.

About the job
With the mission to lead and analyze engine attribute testing, the group ICE Concept Attribute Analysis works in all development phases. Emphasis is on giving input to systems engineering and CAE during advanced engineering and concept phases, but also on keeping track of engine attributes throughout the industrialization. With mixed backgrounds and experiences the team of approximately fifteen analysis engineers perform sophisticated testing of petrol as well as diesel powertrains. The work is performed both in engine test cell (multi and single cylinder) and in vehicle.
What you 'll do
As a Group Manager your main responsibility will be to lead, develop and support the team and its individuals. This includes resource planning for both short and long terms, ownership of the procedures and work practices related to attribute testing and analysis. Additionally you will be expected to be an active participant in the 97620 Management Team and the leadership of the section.
You and your skills
* University degree in mechanical engineering
* Significant experience from the development of combustion engines
* Leadership skills and ability to apply this in an organization
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* EU/Swedish driver's license for passenger cars
Meritorious
Deep understanding of, and interest in engines; with focus on thermodynamics, combustion and controls. Experience of recruitment, staff development and competence planning and understanding of interfacing disciplines such as test facilities, CAE and/or project management.

As the group acts in a wide spectra of time frames the position requires a planned and a structured approach, while still being ready to act on the short perspective.
