Job Purpose
The main purpose and mission of the group "Software Development" is to develop and maintain our in-house developed on-board connectivity platform. As the group manager you are the first line manager and the servant leader of three software development scrum teams and 2-3 software architects; in total around 25 software engineers. The group has competence in embedded software design C++, test automation, requirement and software architecture. OBT practise agile way of working with continuous improvements and are using latest technology and tools. Last year we started to implement SAFe, Scale Agile Framework.
You will be member of a management team that consists of the section manager, two group managers, one program architect and one product manager. You will also be a part of the Release Train management team "On-Board Connectivity Platform" (OCP) supporting the release train with resources issues, take actions to remove impediments, act proposed improvements and when needed, be acting Release Train Engineer.
One main responsibility will be to provide and retain skilled members to the scrum teams and coach the team members as well as the teams in the daily activities, and to secure necessary pre-requisites for a successful execution of our mission.
You are expected to participate and contribute in Program Increment planning sessions, Program Increment retrospective meetings, Release train management meetings, etc. You will drive development of processes, methods, tools and standards related to software development at OBT. This is generally operated by Community of Practises where you will support and contribute. You will also secure that the software is in line with applicable technology strategies according to stipulated processes, methods and tools. As a line manger you will also do salary settings, participate in developing the working environment, recruit employees and consultants. You communicate regularly to the group on performance, strategies and operations and perform all other administrative activities belonging to group members.
Your responsibility is also to break down business plan activities and allocate activities to direct reports and secure competence development strategy. You shall take an active role in moving OBT into an agile development organization!

Required qualifications
• Master of Science in Computer Science or equivalent
• Managerial experience from line management
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience from SW development, embedded or from IT
