hela Sverige Join our Advanced Engineering Team on an exciting journey creating the future products for the Volvo Group! We are currently looking for a Group Manager for our Advanced Engineering Team in Sweden.
Who We Are
The Advanced Engineering team is part of Vehicle Engineering / CAST - Common Architecture and Shared Technology - organization. Our organization is distributed in two locations - Gothenburg (SWE) and Greensboro (USA) and we collaborate as one entity developing concepts sharing technology to support solutions worldwide. Our aim is to explore solutions to the limits of physics, to create transport solutions that add value to our customers and our group's business.
What You Will Be Doing
As Group Manager Advanced Engineering, you will have the task to create an environment that fosters innovation and collaboration between our AE teams, our Volvo group experts and external collaborators. You will secure resources both inside the group and outside with suppliers and/or engineering services companies to support our programs. You will also help develop our engineers to master different applications where the Volvo Group participates in the market and capable of articulating a vision of transportation in the future.
As a Group Manager, you will be responsible for:
Leading, coaching and developing a team of skilled Engineers
Managing resources, competence, and professional development
Managing required engineering services with external suppliers
Developing and maintaining appropriate cross functional networks
Leading planning, budgeting, and follow-up within department
Taking an active part in the management team within your function
In this position, you will report to the Chief Engineer - Advanced Engineering and take an active part in the leadership team to contribute to the overall development of the department.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
8-12+ years of experience in Product Development within the automotive industry
Leadership experience as a manager with direct reports is preferred.
Technical knowledge and understanding of the market and applications
Ability to build effective teams, maximizing each person's contribution to achieve common goals
Effective communicator, able to provide a clear message and use compelling arguments to gain commitment
Can do-attitude and being resilient. Rebounding from setbacks and adversity when facing difficult situations.
Ability to drive cross functional and global network and overcome roadblocks
Accountable, well organized, analytical, business-focused, and holistic mind-set
