Group leader/tenure track positions
in Molecular Biology at Umeå University
The Department of Molecular Biology invites applications from young scientists internationally for 1-2 tenure track positions. We welcome applicants in fields related to eukaryote molecular biology or genetics with emphasis on genetic model organisms. The Department includes a thriving research environment with high competence in the biology of Drosophila, closely tied to groups working on yeast and C. elegans. To promote the generation of new internationally competitive research teams Umeå University will provide generous resources and a unique research environment for young scientists on five-year tenure track contracts. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and documented postdoctoral experience.
The Department now includes research groups from the Umeå Centre for Molecular Pathogenesis (UCMP) and aims to further strengthen the research activities with genetic model organisms. The research surroundings also include the newly founded Laboratory for Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden (MIMS), which belongs to The Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine and is established within Umeå Centre for Microbial Research (UCMR; www.ucmr.se). The scientific environment thereby includes leading groups in the fields of Microbiology, Cell and Developmental Biology, Immunology and Biochemistry.
Applicants should submit a CV and bibliography, a short description of current and planned research, and names and addresses (including e-mail addresses) of three scientists that can provide references. Documents sent electronically should be in MS Word or PDF format.
