www.titanx.comTitanX is strengthening its simulation department. As part of this process, we are looking for a Group Lead Structural Engineer.
ROLE:
The successful candidate will:
• lead group-wide continuous improvement of numerical methods for structural analysis
• support research work of the Advanced Engineering department with custom FEA
• provide occasional support to customer application projects
• conciliate short-term customer application project needs with long-term, global simulation strategy
• deploy calculation methods and guidelines on all sites
• strengthen the link between numerical simulation, physical testing and material science
• lead or participate in technical discussions with our partners
• actively promote information sharing in the company
• mentor less experienced simulation engineers
• assist the Group Simulation Manager with revision of the strategic simulation plan, resource planning and recruitments
You will start your assignment in Mjällby, Sweden, but you will have the possibility to be transferred once you have become comfortable in the position. In any case you should be ready to travel up to 25% of the time.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• MSME or equivalent
• 7 to 15 years of experience with strength and fatigue life calculations, including methods development (forced harmonic and random vibrations, cyclic mechanical and thermo-mechanical loading)
• exposition to the following is desirable: homogenization techniques, contact analysis, bolted, riveted, crimped, welded and brazed joints, rubber dampers and sealing gaskets, sheet metal forming, buckling
• good material knowledge and awareness of manufacturing processes influence on material properties
• execution or supervision of test campaigns
• basic programming knowledge
• critical thinker with strong quality mindset
• experience of project/people management and budgeting is desirable
• true team player, communicating effectively with specialists and non-specialists alike
• highly autonomous problem solver when required
• good communication skills in English
