Position/Job Description:
Provide leadership and support development and execution of global health & safety and property loss prevention programs.
Essential Duties:
• Assess Husqvarna Group's health and safety management systems and programs; develop enhancements, and assist with implementation
• Work cooperatively with facility health and safety and other personnel
• Standardize health and safety management systems across the Group Refine existing health & safety programs or develop new programs in cooperation with internal stakeholders to increase awareness and reduce accidents, incidents and injuries, and to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
• Integrate health and safety management systems with risk management loss prevention programs
• Track and report Group safety statistics
• Implement Group training and awareness programs relating to health and safety. Maintain the Group Health and Safety intranet site
• Ensure appropriate accident investigation procedures are in place, and be involved as necessary in accident investigations
• Provide direction and support for Group Industrial Hygiene programs
• Assist with formulation and implementation of emergency preparedness and life safety procedures
• Other projects as assigned
Qualifications (Education and Experience):
Required
• University Degree in related discipline
• Substantial health & safety experience
• Factory experience
Skills and Capabilities (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
Required
• Effective combination of technical ability, business aptitude and analytical skills
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to summarize complex information in a professional and concise format.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships both internally and externally
• Demonstrated focus on accuracy of information and attention to detail
• Ability to adapt to changing situations in a flexible manner and reprioritize work as necessary
• Strong initiative and self directed in completing tasks, with a focus on delivery
• Ability to travel extensively to domestic or foreign locations (approximately 40-50%)
• Desire and drive to take on additional responsibilities
