The H&M group is not your ordinary company, and our group-level EA function is not your ordinary EA function. We are the core team behind the transformation that is turning H&M group into a technology frontrunner, ensuring that we can be the most loved design group in the world.
Now we are looking for someone that can help us take our EA function to the next level by finding new, inventive ways of making EA fashionable, inspirational and a reflection of our brand DNA. We have never seen architecture done like this, and we want you to show us how it's done. It will not be easy, but who wants the easy job? It will probably be one of the most exciting and fun architect jobs in the world. That should count for something.
You don't just need to be a brilliant creator and communicator, you also need to take pride in identifying yourself as an architect. Your job is not only to collect intelligence; you need to be the intelligence. You will need to inspire and lead our most senior architects in rethinking how enterprise architecture is done.
As a person, you have a great level of independence and act with confidence in your leadership. You will need to collaborate seamlessly across all of our architect community, but have your natural home and catch your breath in the small, group-level EA team that consists of seasoned architecture leaders.
Your overall responsibility will be to drive the development of the EA practice across all of IT, including organization, culture, capacity and development of foundational EA assets. We don't believe in dogmatic EA frameworks, and neither do you. And we don't believe in telling you upfront exactly how you will play your role: on your level, that will be based on your individual combination of your background, passion and aspirations. You will report directly to our head of EA.
Your responsibilities
• Define and drive our agenda of re-inventing EA: what does it mean to be state of the art EA in 2019? Work with external thought leaders from all over the world to define the next generation of EA.
• Lead the implementation of new ways of operating EA, across all divisions and 80+ enterprise architects: organization, capacity, discipline integration, culture etc
• Define a new standard for visual communication
• Re-initiate, lead and facilitate the creation of our foundational group-level assets, including business models, value streams, target IT architectures and core information models
• Drive our EA brand both internally and externally
Your skills
• 10+ years of experience as an architect
• A clear aspiration to become a thought leader on how to operate a post-modern enterprise architecture function
• Exceptional visual and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of both the exceptional beauty and occasional frustration of changing complex organizations
• Experience from large IT landscapes
• It is an advantage if you have experience from both retail and the new generation of IT architecture
