What's in it for you?
Fuel & Ignition System have the main task to develop the high-pressure fuel system, glow system and Ignition system for all internal combustion engines, current as well as future projects. This means, define system requirements, designing system/components and verifying both components and system.
The Combustion team have high merited team members that's responsible for combustion chamber geometry, piston top geometry, intake port design, fuel spray targeting and characteristics and injector performance analysis.The development work is done cross functional in close cooperation with other development departments, purchase, production process and suppliers. Our involvement is from advanced engineering/concept phase, through industrialization to start of production and service/aftermarket.
What you'll do
As a group design leader (GDL) you will have many work tasks but as main parts you will handle projects from concept phase up until production start. This includes such as follow up relevant time plans for the assignment, make decisions regarding actions, follow up system and component development status, initiate and assure corrective actions when deviations occurs.
You will coordinate and lead the team to reach the technical objectives and secure the deliveries within the given time and budget and together you will develop technical solutions and documentation that describes the systems and components. Other tasks are to support Group Manager (GC) by leading the group's project assignments in a cross-functional group and securing results and deliveries, close collaboration with other areas within R&D, purchase, manufacturing and suppliers is necessary for the assignments success.
Do you fit the profile?
We think you have a M.Sc., Bachelor of Science or equivalent based on work experience and at least one year of experience from product development. Our assumption is that you are skilled in Swedish and English, both in speech and writing alongside having a good knowledge in Volvo Car's processes and systems. We believe that you also have good knowledge in project work and follow up and financial control
