Get to know us
At Surface Treatment Engineering, we deliver surface treatment solutions for all car programs. This includes concepts involving materials such as: Paint Shop sealing, noise vibration and harshness material, sound damping materials, corrosion protection, plugs, tapes, transport protection materials and paint materials.
As a Group Design Lead (GDL) with focus on running changes you will be the key person handling and leading the quality and cost reduction items within the section.
What you'll do
You will be a member of an agile team within the section Surface Treatment Engineering and develop surface treatment solutions with full technical documentation with main focus on the running car models in accordance to time, technology and cost.
You will be the main responsible for leading and assuring a fluent introduction of running change projects at the section. The work will be performed according to Volvo Cars established way of work for running changes. This will involve close cooperation with other developers and agile teams within the section as well as other engineering sections, Manufacturing Engineering, plants and the Procurement department.
You will ensure correct status of the different supporting systems like the Design Data systems, Running Change Data system and Team Center.
You will coordinate, secure the time plans and sum up status of the running change projects and report at the overall Running Change Meeting for complete car program.
You will handle both quality improvements as well as cost savings, market requests and supplier requests.
Who are you?
We want you to have an engineering background. If you have experience from other roles within surface treatment area or manufacturing engineering paint shop it is meritorious. Experience from working in running change projects related to quality and cost saving projects is something that we consider as a main advantage. Another advantage is if you have a broad Volvo network and knowledge about Volvo way of work.
You have a background in leading tasks and a drive to take own initiative within the role.
You are a team player with social competence and have a pedagogical and clear way of communicating.
You work in a structured way and have the possibility to handle a variety of tasks at the same time.
