GM Powertrain Sweden is in the frontline when it comes to development of turbo engines and manual gearboxes. The introduction of BioPower is the latest prominent example of innovative technology that has received at lot of international attention.

We are part of GM Powertrain, a global company with business in 17 countries and with over 50 000 employees. Today GM Powertrain Sweden has around 800 employees situated at three sites: controls-, engine development and engine production in Södertälje, integration, controls- and transmissions development in Trollhättan and production of manual gearboxes in Göteborg.

Global TRC, Technical specialist - Parallel axis (gears)

Duties:

The TRC is technically responsible for method development on gears and shafts to manual transmissions. You will act as global expert within the area of gear design with responsibility of developing methods in order to increase design knowledge to support the GM Powertrain goal of developing world's best transmission. To achieve this you will act constantly to improve and implement best practices by initiating benchmarking activities, start cooperation's with universities and initiating internal advanced engineering projects.

You will act as an internal consultant supporting others with your competence in our global organization; empower taskforce teams; take part in design reviews; technical reviews of suppliers; or take decisions on technical deviations.

Background:

You have a PhD in the area or alternatively a MSc in mechanical engineering with long experience within the area of gear design or gear manufacturing. You are comfortable in talking in front of people i.e. good at expressing yourself orally and in written both in English and Swedish, you are proactive and like to challenge, act with responsibility and integrity and like to work in multicultural and cross functional environment but you can take independent decisions when necessary.
