General Motors Powertrain - Sweden AB is in the frontline when it comes to development of turbo engines and manual gearboxes. The introduction of BioPower is the latest prominent example of innovative technology that has received at lot of international attention.
We are part of GM Powertrain, a global company with business in 17 countries and with over 50 000 employees. Today GM Powertrain Sweden has around 600 employees situated at two sites: controls-, engine development and engine production in Södertälje and integration, controls- and transmissions development, engine development and exhaust aftertreatment in Trollhättan.
GM Powertrain is looking for a Design Responsible Engineer (DRE) – Gears & Shafts (ref no 294-1429)
As Design Responsible Engineer you are a part of the Torque Transfer group, consisting of personnel from both Sweden and Germany. The team is within GM PT Europe responsible to design and release gears, shafts and splines. These components influence mainly the performance, durability and noise behavior of the Transmission system.
Since Europe is globally responsible for manual transmission systems, we will also support other regions solving problems and assure all released components world wide within GM PT have the right quality.
Main work content:
The DRE is technically responsible for one or several components in a gearbox. You are responsible in setting up product requirements, develop technical solutions, follow up that analysis and verification activities have been performed successfully and ensure that all necessary technical documents are established in accordance with our process requirements. You will be responsible in running the technical contacts with supplier, factory and purchase dept.
Qualifications:
You should have a Bachelor or Masters degree in mechanical engineering and it is a merit if you have experience from similar assignments. You should have an interest in mechanics and have excellent skills in expressing yourself orally and in written, both in English and Swedish. You are proactive, act with responsibility and integrity and like to work in multicultural and cross functional environment but you can take independent decisions when necessary.
