Volvo Autonomous Solutions is a brand new entity within the Volvo Group with the mission to offer transport solutions never seen before. Together we will work on autonomous solutions that will challenge conventions and take us to the future. With entirely new business models and advanced technology we will meet and exceed expectations from customers and contributing to a society that we want to live in. We will accelerate the development, commercialization and sales of all autonomous transport solutions within the Volvo Group. The automation area will continue to grow in importance in the commercial vehicle industry and in the Volvo Group.
There's already about 150 of us and together we will form a team that is stronger than the sum of its parts and is ready to tackle the big challenges we have ahead of us.
Position Descriptions
We are now looking for 9 Global Technology Managers (GTM) who will drive both strategies and deliveries within their respective areas. Our GTMs will be the backbone of the Technology management team for Volvo Autonomous Solutions and are expected to take initiative and contribute to our common future. We believe that our candidates share our values; Customer Success, Trust, Passion, Change and Performance. More specifically, we believe that the candidates for all our GTM roles have the following background and mindset:
You have an extensive managerial experience, preferably within embedded software development in the truck or car industry. You have worked on both strategic and operational level in international and multicultural environment. You demonstrate a clear vision, a global mindset and you have a proven track record of successfully developing people and cutting-edge technology. You can deal with the uncertainty of change and you are ready to face a challenge that do not have clear solutions or outcomes. Your leadership style is characterized by managerial courage, business acumen and trust. You have strong interpersonal skills and can engage people around you. You hold a master's degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent, and is fluent in English, both written and spoken. We believe our new GTMs combine their technology experience, with effective people management and embracing all aspects of diversity, safety, quality and the environment.
Global Technology Manager "Environment"
The Environment team is responsible for Calibration, Fusion, Localization and Perception Components in our Autonomous Solutions. The main task is to define, develop and maintain Perception hardware and software that uses sensor input to create a world model. The team will cooperate closely with applicable development partners. The solutions are scalable and allows quick and easy development and installation. The team has full cradle to grave responsibility of its solutions, from concept development to quality follow-up in commercial solutions.
Global Technology Manager "Driver"
The Driver team is responsible for Mission Execution, Motion Planning and Safety Assertion in our Autonomous Solutions. The main task is to define, develop and maintain Driver hardware and software that uses Environment input to create a motion plan. The team has full cradle to grave responsibility of its solutions, from concept development to quality follow-up in commercial solutions.
Global Technology Manager "Vehicle"
The Vehicle team is responsible for Vehicle Control, Vehicle State estimation, Vehicle Diagnostics and Vehicle Models for our Autonomous Solutions. The main task is to define, develop and maintain hardware and software that enables autonomous operation in our specific vehicles. The team will cooperate closely with the applicable base vehicle development teams in the Volvo Group. The solutions are scalable and allows quick and easy development and installation.
Global Technology Manager "Cloud"
Autonomous solutions include more than vehicles. The Cloud team is responsible for the off-board mission management, safe site operations and tele-operation for our Autonomous Solutions. The solutions are scalable and allows quick and easy development and installation. The team has full cradle to grave responsibility of its solutions, from concept development to quality follow-up in commercial solutions.
Global Technology Manager "Verification"
The Verification team is responsible for the verification for our complete Autonomous Solutions. The main task is to define, develop and perform verification activities. This includes verification through simulated environment, hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) benches and rigs, test driving on both test tracks and public roads and integration testing. The team has full responsibility for the verification and validation of all L4 solutions.
Global Technology Manager "Product"
The Product team is responsible for Project & train management, Product roadmaps, Quality Management and Partnership Contract Management of our Autonomous Solutions. The main task is to define, drive and evolve the product portfolio. The team is involved in all product phases, from pre-studies to customer operation. The team will cooperate closely with applicable stakeholders for the autonomous solutions.
Global Technology Manager "Architecture"
The Architecture team is responsible for the full system architecture in our Autonomous Solutions. The main task is to define, drive and evolve the architecture.
Global Technology Manager "Safety"
The Safety team is responsible for the complete safety cases of our Autonomous Solutions. This includes Functional Safety, System Safety, Cybersecurity, etc. The main task is to define, drive and evolve the safety cases. The team will cooperate closely with applicable stakeholders (legislators, standardization bodies, etc.) for the autonomous solutions.
Global Technology Manager "Infrastructure"
The Infrastructure team is responsible for Configuration Management, CI/CD, Data Management, HIL & Test environments and SIL & Simulation environments. The main task is to define, develop and maintain the full Infrastructure Platform.
