At Connectivity we specifically develop, deliver and maintain all on-board functions, systems and solutions which enable connected vehicles and related services. Main enablers are the android-based Service and Entertainment Module (SEM) and the Telematic Gateway (TGW). For both components we develop the main part of the software in-house and work in close collaboration with suppliers on hardware and lower-layer software.
Your responsibilities
AsGlobal Technology Manager (GTM)for our android-basedEntertainment and Connected Serviceoffering your main responsibility is to create engagement and drive performance. You lead the daily work as well as the strategic planning for our entertainment platform. Our department, The Entertainment and Connected Service department, is broad; ranging from hardware expertise in areas such as radios, speakers and amplifiers to state-of-the art software based on latest release of the Android framework.
In this position you will have four Group managers as direct reports, together with key roles for the department such as Product Manager, Product Owners and Architects. In total the department holds in range of 90 people. Your responsibility is to continue to build, and support engaged and high performing teams in the Entertainment area as conditions and requirements are changing over time. Furthermore, you will be responsible to reinforce a strong product ownership mentality with a passion for customer needs and success. You will work in close cooperation with other colleagues such as peers and teams in GTT as well as within purchasing, operations and commercial organizations in Volvo Group.
As GTM - Entertainment and Connected Services you are also expected to:
Have Customer focus and prone to understand customer needs and use insights to show the way and render traction.
Balance short-term commitments and long-term strategic objectives and further guide team to make trade-offs and prioritizations in the backlog.
Be an active and responsible team player in the Connectivity Management Team.

Other criteria for the position:
Master of Science in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent
Several years of experience of line and/or project management
Deep knowledge and several years of experience of embedded system development and/or Android based development, preferably for the truck/car industry
Experience of agile methods, such as SCRUM, KANBAN and SAFe
Experience of Supplier management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
