Sandvik Mining and Construction (SMC) is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a world-leading supplier of equipment, tools and complete solutions for the mining and construction industries.
Supply Chain is a common function within SMC. We are responsible for managing the supply chain for parts, tools and components and all sourcing of direct materials. In the initial phase, we are now looking for five high potential candidates to Global Supply Chain Development program to help us run all these change initiatives, with a focus on Distribution, Planning and Sourcing. Preferable locations are Sandviken in Sweden, Tampere in Finland, Brisbane in Australia and Johannesburg in South Africa.
In these key development roles, you will be responsible for managing and supporting projects or change programs assigned by the Supply Chain management team. Projects can have a global or regional scope and you must be flexible and prepared to work in different locations around the world for periods of approximately three to six months over a period of two years.
Key performance areas
As a Supply Chain Developer, and a member of this high potential program, you will need Supply Chain expertise and project management skills in order to help us to reach the change targets and objectives for the Supply Chain organization and our full business potential. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Using project models to ensure consistency and quality in communication, planning, execution and
completion of projects and change initiatives
• Carrying out detailed analysis of all aspects of an aftermarket Supply Chain
• Identifying all relevant key data, performing necessary analysis and presenting key findings in a concise way
• Being responsible for the projects outcome, high quality and on-time delivery, without business and service
disruptions
• Maintaining timely and accurate information and communicating with stakeholders
• Acting in a supporting role for all change initiatives and projects
You will report to the Vice President of Operations Support.
Your profile
We are looking for someone that has one or more university degrees, with special recommendations from a university representative. You have several years? work experience, preferably in the Supply Chain area. Experience in, or very good knowledge of, Change Management and Project Management is required. Good knowledge of system tools, particularly in MS Project 2007 and MS Office, is necessary.
As a person you are self-motivated, with a very strong drive to achieve results and the ability to work under great pressure. You have excellent planning and problem solving skills, with an analytical approach, and are also an excellent communicator. As the position involves several external contacts, fluent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential.
