To be more specific, we're looking for an organized, forward-thinking and relation-oriented Global Strategic Purchaser to take responsibility for the sourcing of software and digital solutions for our division. About the job
This is an exciting job with broad networks and many points of contact - spanning all the way from internal resources to external suppliers - as you're responsible for the purchasing of software, applications, services and IT solutions for Sandvik Coromant. We act in a category driven environment where we deliver on initiated sourcing activities aligned with the category strategy. Once joining us, you'll be part of our competent category management team focusing on IT, and you closely collaborate with our Category Manager and main stakeholders in both setting and following our strategic direction. Naturally, your daily work includes lots of interactions, and you take lead in evaluating, selecting, negotiating and contracting suppliers. You proactively go through plans and roadmaps to identify what we need for the future, and you're always on the lookout for innovative solutions, updated market trends and new supplier options.
Within Sandvik Coromant, we're currently working on a procurement change program called "Procurement Excellence" to make sure that we both enable and create value in a sustainable manner - not only for ourselves but also when it comes to the suppliers we choose. To drive change in IT-related sourcing matters, you challenge the IT Management team and the global IT function by discussing new ways of sourcing IT and look at the most suitable choice for our IT landscape from a commercial and contractual perspective. Other important items on your agenda are establishing governance in our supplier relations, managing onboarding processes and following up on agreements. You also partner up with our legal department to ensure relevant and profitable terms for our contracts.
We offer a flexible work setting, although we need your presence at the office in Sandviken at least a couple of days a month.
About you
As you're involved in technical discussions, you need an overall knowledge of the world of digital solutions - perhaps from working as an IT professional or with tech retail. You understand the features and possibilities of software, applications and licenses, and you easily identify how we can ensure maximum value in our supplier contracts. You also know how to negotiate around these types of solutions and you're used to evaluating options, closing deals and managing stakeholders. Any previous experience from outsourcing projects is highly valued. A degree in a relevant field of studies is an advantage, as is experience from the manufacturing industry. Since we're a global business, you need cultural awareness and excellent communication skills in English. Being based in Sweden also means that knowledge of Swedish is beneficial.
You're brave enough to challenge our stakeholders, partners and suppliers, and adaptable enough to view things from different perspectives. Connecting with people and listening to the needs of the business are key elements in this job, and you build trusting relations. As an experienced and mature purchaser, you take lead in your assignments, and you have a structured and detailed approach. Your curiosity also leads you to explore the market and proactively investigate which solutions we need to update and include in order to bring the most of our IT portfolio.
