We continually work to identify possible new ways to improve the efficiency and profitably of the business. At Indirect Purchasing within Sandvik Coromant,we are responsible for developing Global Category Strategies and handle stakeholder management by building a trustworthy long-term relationship with suppliers.
We are the first point of contact for the business regarding negotiations and contracts for procurements, and after a change in strategic direction and decentralization of our IT functions out to the business, we are also first point of contact for indirect purchasing of IT tools and services. We are now looking for a Global Strategic Purchaser to take on responsibility for our supplier base within this new area.
This position is located in Sandviken, Sweden, and some travel is a natural part of the job.
Key performance areas
In this position, you manage and develop a sustainable global supplier base of IT tools and services that aligns with our strategies. You bring value to the organization by continually developing our purchasing processes - and there by our business - from a holistic point of view. You proactively monitor and interpret global IT suppliers and market trends, and you work in close collaboration with other purchasing organizations within Sandvik to ensure good cross-functional coordination and communication. During supplier selection, you ensure that every aspect of our requirements is considered, which you do by applying Sandvik Supplier Code of Conduct and other mandatory sustainable processes to the selection. Supplier management, including supporting the onboarding of suppliers, is a natural part of your mission, as is taking responsibility for actions to improve all aspects of your designated area.
Another very important key to your success is establishing and developing long-term relationships with both key stakeholders and suppliers. You secure and implement appropriate agreements for the category and lead negotiations with suppliers and stakeholders when applicable, taking full responsibility for sourcing projects and finding different approaches to cross-border solutions.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with good negotiation skills and great ability to read and understand supplier and customer agreements. You have at least two years' commercial experience, and a proven track record from a role within category-driven Purchasing, Supply Production, Sales or Finance. Experience from team management is also beneficial in this position. A degree in a relevant field is advantageous, and experience from IT Sourcing is a plus. As we act in an international setting, you have great skills in English, both verbally and in writing, while skills in Swedish are advantageous.
