At Coromant Purchasing, which is part of Global Operations, we secure supplies from our external partners and ensure that the suppliers, as well as the products they deliver, meet Sandvik Coromant's requirements regarding quality, delivery, costs, and sustainable performance. We are now looking for a Sourcing Engineer to join our team in an interesting and challenging role, where you will experience different cultures and ways of working.
The location for this position is, preferably, Sandviken or Gimo, but any of our sites throughout Europe are also suitable. International travel is a natural part of this job.
Key performance areas
As a Global Sourcing Engineer, you are part of a small team working as a support function for our Global Category Managers, where you participate in or lead technical supplier audits or selections, and create improvement plans for suppliers. You create, maintain and develop our sourcing engineering processes, and you coordinate testing and evaluation of the defined products or materials. Working in close collaboration with the Supply functions, primarily for Product Areas Tools and Round Tools, you cooperate with various design owners within the PAs and with Product Management and Quality Assurance to develop specifications for purchased products, in order to ensure that they are comprehensive and easy for external suppliers to use.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a technical degree or education, or relevant experience from production. Previous work with, or knowledge of, inserts production, and audit experience or training are also beneficial. You have a solid understanding of the technology we work with, and you have previous experience from working with customer and supplier management. Previous experience from working in a global matrix and multi-cultural organization is also highly advantageous. You are used to working with Microsoft Office, and skills in SAP are also a plus. As we act in an international setting, you need excellent skills in English, both verbally and in writing, to be successful.
