We are looking for two Global Service Engineers to join our ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD), which develops, manufactures, and markets blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma and autoimmune diseases. With 1,500 employees worldwide, IDD is the global leader in in-vitro allergy testing and also the European leader in autoimmunity diagnostics. The allergy and autoimmunity product lines operate on a common instrument platform, Phadia Laboratory Systems, which supports both productivity and cost efficiencies in clinical laboratories around the world. The leading products of the ImmunoDiagnostics Division include ImmunoCAP for allergy and asthma tests and EliA for autoimmunity tests.
As a Global Service Engineer you will play a key role in ensuring commercial success for our Phadia Laboratory Systems. You will do so by supporting Field Service Engineers, either in our own regional field organizations or in our local distributors to deliver world class Technical Service to IDD customers, thereby creating customer satisfaction by increasing laboratory productivity and effectiveness. You will be based in our Center of Excellence in Uppsala, but with a global responsibility, therefore we are looking for candidates who will enjoy the international aspect and who can travel regularly.
THE JOB:
You will be joining a team of X Service Engineers, where two of the team have a Global responsibility and you will be reporting directly into our Head of Global Service. In this role you will work internationally and cross-functionally within the company, the work will be very varied and will include:
• Developing and maintaining IDD Technical Service documentation, such as service manuals, IQ/OQ documents, checklists and troubleshooting guides
• Supporting the creation of a Technical Service Training program and developing the Global Training Centre in Uppsala into a true Centre of Excellence
• Providing second-line phone and mail support to customers and sometimes you will even be taking the lead role on-site for more complex installations and repairs at Key Accounts worldwide
• Supporting launch projects, product development and product care activities by driving the understanding for "design for serviceability"
• Driving the implementation of Technical Service SOPs on a global and regional basis
• Promoting efficient Spare Parts Management activities
• Providing guidance on how to measure relevant service statistics and instrument metrics
• Proactively drive collaboration activities to secure a best practices approach with the service organizations within IDD and other Thermo Fisher divisions
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The ideal candidate will have a technical or scientific degree and will have worked as a Field Service Engineer for about ten years, including several years of experience from the IVD industry. This role will suit someone who is an open-minded peoples' person with a real interest for working internationally and cross-functionally.
You will be working in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment so you should be driven, focused and have lots of perseverance. Working with the customer in focus where you prioritize customer satisfaction is important.
We live in a constantly changing world and that holds especially true for our industry, therefore it is important that you are interested in continuously learning about IT, software, electronic engineering, mechanics and biochemistry. It is advantageous if you have a good command of service tools, for example Remote Diagnostics and of Service Management Solutions, preferably ServiceMax. You must speak and write English fluently and will ideally speak Swedish too.
