What you will do
At Group Trucks Purchasing (GTP) you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. As a segment leader within Chassis and Vehicle Dynamics (CVD) purchasing you will be leading the scope of wheels and tires responsible for:
• Building and driving the development of the segment strategy and purchasing process to support Volvo's strategic objectives
• Strengthen Volvo's competitive advantage by understanding the business needs and the supplier market in this area
• Manage and develop the supplier base, using categorization, segmentation, evaluation, etc. developing resilient and sustainable partnerships
• Manage the segments in a QDCFTSR mindset
• Drive and coordinate the global activities in close collaboration with the regions.
• Negotiate upcoming requests, contracts and framework agreements with suppliers
• Actively contributing to the team development, bringing improvement ideas, supporting your peers and coaching buyers by sharing best practices
Who are you?
• An excellent business acumen, strong communication skills together with cross-functional networking agility
• Strong leadership/mentoring skills, a strategic way of thinking and a track record in negotiation.
• An ability to prioritize and strive for the best solutions with proactive actions, efficiency and speed in execution in order to secure expected performance.
• A passion for experience sharing, supporting others and most of all you are a true team player.
We are a truly global and diverse company, most of your meetings and emails will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English. To qualify for the position, you show some years of purchasing experience, preferably in automotive, with adequate academic education such as a Bachelor and/or Masters Degree in Business related fields
