The R&D Team Manager plays an important role, driving and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within the R&D organization, as well as ensuring strong topic leadership and vision.
In this role, you will be leading a global team of R&D Engineers working in Business Line Mining, with a mission to shape, build and advance the portfolio of products and solutions that increase autonomy of mining operations and advance the green transition of the mining industry.
Your responsibilities
Leading the R&D teams Robot solutions and Trolley technology, taking strong ownership of setting the team direction in alignment with the global R&D organization and developing the team to ensure strong contribution.
Representing the R&D function for BL Mining in Sweden, ensuring efficient and compliant local processes, ensuring strategic alignment with the rest of the R&D organization, and representing R&D function in co-innovation projects with customers in Sweden.
Actively participating in R&D Mining core team, partaking in strategic decisions, and setting the direction for the organization.
Fostering the culture of innovation and value-focused thinking, ensuring the active contribution of the team to product and technology roadmaps and strategies, as well as ensuring appropriate protection of the intellectual property in the assigned technical field.
Ensuring the appropriate staffing of the assigned R&D projects, as well as the competency development of the R&D team; ensuring efficient project execution to appropriate development and quality standards, planning and reporting the team utilization.
Building, developing, and maintaining a trust-based relationships with internal (other R&D teams, product management, operations, business management) and external (customers, standardization bodies, universities, etc.) contacts.
Overseeing and assisting with transfer of technology and knowledge to Operations.
Productively contributing to the execution of the R&D project portfolio, in a project/portfolio management or a senior technical contributor role.

Your background
Several years of experience working with automation and/or electrification technologies serving mining industry.
Several years of experience working in roles pertaining to technology development, product development or technical product management.
Strong motivation and proven ability to lead a global R&D team, with strong references in organizational skills and influencing.
Excellent understanding of technology trends in mining industry and industrial automation.
A solution-focused approach, strong analytical skills, and strong written and spoken communication skills.
An MSc in a technical field, preferably Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or Computational Sciences.
Proficient use of English language is a must, both spoken and written.
