The Global Process Engineering role is part of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME), within Manufacturing Engineering Final Assembly supporting Manufacturing & Logistics (M&L) organization in all phases.
The purpose of the role Global Process Engineer is to develop future manufacturing processes based on decided KPI's and fundamentals for complete Final Assembly shops. You will support Volvo Cars Final Assembly shops towards the decided manufacturing process.
What you'll do
In this role you will give prerequisites and interact with AME, Commodity and FT&E (Area Engineers) regarding new installations in Final Assembly shops globally. You will develop, lead and maintain global annual work together with Core ME regarding process strategies and plant vision layout towards Ideal state. Including handling and implement lessons learned. Lead the work with the BoP (Bill of Process), commonality and development of processes and layout's from a strategic perspective in cooperation with Core ME. This role will allow you to optimize total process cost/car: availability, and quality, including developing of necessary KPI's, process fundamentals etc. Creating prerequisites for an efficient process flow in co-operation with SCM (Supplier Chain Management), Geometry, Quality, Plant Engineering and other stake holders is part of this role. You will be the owner of the strategy and vision BOP while keeping updated on current state and lead Area Engineer meetings within area of responsibility with all Final Assembly shops globally. The responsibility to give input to quality optimization of the product and safeguarding of Volvo Cars strategies regarding process driven design and assembly sequence commonality is yours. You will support long term strategic development of plant layouts in all Volvo Cars plants and ensure that decisions and actions taken are known, understood and agreed with the concerned units in M&L. Perform financial studies such as pre-studies and investment calculations. You will also provide analysis and verification needs for the area of responsibility. In this role you must also have the flexibility to travel as it is required.
Do you fit the profile?
To be successful in this role you need to have technical competence on Bachelor or Master of sciences level or equivalent. We want you to bring knowledge about processes, methods, and tools at Manufacturing and P&Q (Product & Quality). Having a broad product and process knowledge within the area of responsibility is important while having production technical experience. We want you to have leadership experience & training with project management skills. Communication and negotiation skills are key therefore fluency in English is required.
