SKF Group is strengthening its resources within media relations and is recruiting a press manager responsible for driving SKFs global presence in external media and to support local markets in their media activities. The position reports to SVP Group Communications and is located at SKF Group Headquarter, in Gothenburg.
As a person you are detail and deadline oriented with a strategic mind set and senior working experience within media, PR or journalism. Furthermore it is essential to have a good sense of team spirit and networking and to be challenged by and have a willingness to work in a global environment. You likely have a background in journalism and have an excellent ability to handle English both verbally and in writing journalistically.
Main responsibilites
• Work proactively with PR and media relations to develop SKF's presence in media on a global basis
• Be responsible for media contact and availability to mass media
• Plan and pitch stories with media contacts, prepare interviews
• Plan, write and coordinate the development and distribution of Group press releases , including internal approval process
• Actively develop and support local SKF markets regarding media activities
• Be responsible for measuring and following up of SKF media coverage
• Be responsible for media monitoring and analysis, keeping track of news and trends
• Coordinate media training and coach spokespersons.
Educational background and work experience
University degree preferably in the field of communications or journalism.
At least ten years working experience within media, PR or journalism.
Language skills
Native or fluently in English both verbally and in writing
